Mr. McNeill is an accredited investor with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is highly active in managing his current portfolio, which includes both private and public company investments. Mr. McNeill founded Metro Equity Capital on the principles of providing fair and unbiased recommendations to its clients. His decision to start Metro was driven by his dissatisfaction with the prevalent industry practices, where many firms prioritized charging large upfront fees over performance-based strategies for successful financial outcomes.
Metro Equity Capital differentiates itself by adopting a hybrid financial solution approach, in which Mr. McNeill and his team may invest their own personal capital alongside other general and limited partners. This method allows Metro to respond more efficiently and timely to client needs. By leveraging its investment platform, Metro conducts its own internal financial diligence and prepares customized offering memoranda that are submitted blindly to a proprietary database of general and limited partners. This ensures that potential investment opportunities are quickly matched with the appropriate investment mandates of Metro’s investors.
Before establishing Metro Equity Capital in 2010, Mr. McNeill served as a Managing Director at Windstone Capital Partners, a boutique investment bank in Scottsdale, AZ, and held a similar role at Newport Capital in Los Angeles, CA. From 1998 to 2003, he worked as a business consultant for a software company later acquired by EMC Corp. (subsequently acquired by Dell Corp.) and was involved in corporate development for a $4 billion publicly traded communication company. His responsibilities included identifying potential acquisition targets, conducting due diligence, and leading post-acquisition integration projects.
Mr. McNeill’s earlier career involved piloting an investment banking venture for Charles Schwab and serving as an analyst at Oppenheimer Funds. He holds several FINRA securities licenses, including the Series 7 (General Securities), Series 66 (Investment Advisor), and Series 79 (Investment Banking) licenses, as well as a Designated Broker license. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
