Our Story

Metro Equity Capital was founded with a simple purpose: to give business owners a trusted partner in navigating complex financing and strategic transactions. After more than 30 years in finance, Mr. McNeill saw firsthand how many firms led with large upfront fees, rigid processes, or misaligned incentives. Metro was built to be the opposite — transparent, responsive, and aligned with client outcomes.

Metro supports lower–middle–market companies with practical, execution-focused financing and advisory solutions. We work on transactions ranging from $5 million to $75 million, including acquisition financing, management buyouts, recapitalizations, partner buyouts, and growth capital raises.

Founder Background

Mr. McNeill is an accredited investor with more than 30 years of experience across investment banking, corporate finance, and strategic consulting. In addition to founding Metro Equity Capital, he is personally invested in several private businesses and maintains an active portfolio of private and public company investments.

Before launching Metro Equity Capital in 2010, Mr. McNeill served in Managing Director roles at boutique investment banks in Arizona and California. His experience also includes:

  • Corporate development for a publicly traded communications company
  • Strategic consulting for a software firm later acquired by EMC (and subsequently Dell)
  • Early-career roles in investment analysis and brokerage innovation

He holds the Series 7, Series 66, Series 79, and Designated Broker licenses.
